Concurrent calls: several callers at once, nobody gets a busy tone

A receptionist answers one call at a time. Basalix AI answers several, each with its own full intake, so the second and third callers on a busy Monday morning are screened and booked instead of hearing a busy signal or a voicemail greeting. How many run at once is set by your plan.

Without it

What one line at a time costs

The second caller hears busy

A TV spot, a settlement in the news or plain Monday morning, and every caller after the first is lost.

Voicemail is not a queue

Callers who reach a greeting rarely leave a message. They dial the next firm.

Hiring for the peak

Staffing the desk for the busiest hour means paying for it during the quietest.

What it does

Every line gets the whole agent

Each call that arrives at the same time runs its own full intake.

  1. Lines set by plan
    • Solo Intake: 2
    • Firm Intake: 5
    • Multi-office: dedicated
  2. Pooled across numbers
    • Per plan
    • Not per number
  3. A full intake on each
    • English or Spanish
    • Real slots
    • No double-booking
  4. Logs the overflow
    • Concurrency
    • Quota

Web chats are counted separately and never use a voice line.

What’s included

How concurrent calls work

Each call gets the whole agent: the greeting, your screening, real calendar slots and a record of its own.

  • Lines by plan

Solo Intake answers two calls at once, Firm Intake five; Multi-office / 10+ attorneys reserves dedicated lines.

  • Shared across numbers

The limit is per plan and pooled across your phone numbers, not per number.

  • A full intake on every call

Each simultaneous call is screened independently, in English or Spanish, and books real open slots without double-booking.

  • Missed-call log

A call that arrives when every line is busy is logged with the reason, concurrency or quota.

  • Chat counted separately

Web chat conversations do not use a voice line.

  • Upgrade mid-cycle

Move up a plan when busy signals show in the missed-call log; the difference is prorated.

Setup

Sized to your busiest hour

  1. Step 1

    Check the missed-call log

The log shows every call that was not answered and why: all lines busy, or the month’s minutes used up.

  2. Step 2

    Pick the plan

Two lines for a solo practice, five for a small firm, dedicated lines for volume. Change it mid-cycle.

  3. Step 3

    Point your numbers at it

Forward one number or three. Concurrency is pooled across them.

  4. Step 4

    Scale for campaigns

Running a spot or a mass-tort campaign? Talk to sales about dedicated concurrency before it airs.

FAQ

Questions about concurrent calls

No. The limit is per plan and shared across your numbers. Firm Intake answers five calls at once whether they arrive on one number or three.

Your carrier’s normal busy handling. The call is logged in Basalix as missed, with the reason marked as concurrency rather than quota. If that happens often, the Multi-office plan adds dedicated lines.

Each call uses its own minutes from the plan’s monthly pool. Three ten-minute calls at once use thirty minutes, the same as three in a row.

No. Bookings go into real calendar availability, so a slot taken on one line is no longer offered on another.
